EARLSTON High School pupils had stars in their eyes last week.
A group from the school travelled to Edinburgh to visit Heart of Midlothian's Tynecastle Stadium. This followed on from the extremely successful Ghana Day event, organised by the school's Friends of Mangu committee, which celebrated Ghana's independence. The pupils were all winners from the various competitions which ran on the day.

At Tynecastle, the pupils were shown around the facilities, visiting the committee rooms, changing rooms and the John Robertson room. They also had a chance to visit the dug-outs and the pitch.

The highlight, however, was their meeting with Laryea Kingston, Hearts' Ghanaian internationalist and talented midfielder. There was an interesting and entertaining question and answer session with 'Larry', followed by a photo session.

The pupils then had a chance to chat with the player and get autograph books and jerseys signed.

"A really nice guy," was the reaction from the pupils who appreciated his warm, unassuming manner and the time he had given up to meet with them.
