LANGHOLM made the perfect start to 150 years of cricket in the town by gaining an eight-wicket victory over St Boswells at the Castleholm last Saturday.
Home captain Duncan Elliott was unavailable so it was only fitting that Colin Turk took over the duties in his 200th match for the club.

St Boswells opened the batting on a soft wicket and lost Richard Young for a duck to a catch behind by Gregor
Park from the bowling of brother Graham, with the score at 11.

Steven Broom (25) joined forces with Jamie Glover and when the former was caught by Grant Fletcher the score was 42 for 2.

Elliot Hunter was out for a duck to a Graham Park catch and McIlroy (8) never really settled before being caught by Turk.

McNeil (10) joined Glover and they carried things along, but the former was caught by Geoff Maxwell off Turk.

Glover (53) was still going strong, but when looking like hitting a cracker to the boundary, Graham Park stretched his tall frame to bring off a superb catch to make it 99 for 7.

There was little increase from the tailenders and St Boswells were all out for 109 in the 43rd over.

Graham Park was best of the home bowlers with 4 for 34 and Fletcher had 2 for 27.

Langholm lost Turk (4) to a catch by Glover from a Broom delivery, with the score on 24. But the Park brothers carried things to 95 before Graham (46) was caught by Elms off Young.

Gregor Park (52) was joined by Euan Wilson and they were still at the wicket when the visitors' total was passed for Langholm to finish on 110 for two wickets in the 14th over.

In the St Boswells bowling, Young had 1 for 15 and Broom 1 for 34.
