GALA consolidated their league position with a 56-run win over Hawick at Meigle Park on Saturday, with Alan Niven again on fine form, dominating with both bat and ball.
Batting first, the Gala top order all contributed as they looked to build towards a score of 200, but wickets fell at vital times and the home side only reached 159 at the end of their 50 overs. For Hawick, Hartop and Roger took three wickets each.
Kris Mein took three early wickets, but Chalmers, Roger and Hartop gave Hawick hope.
However, the Teries lost their last six batsmen for six runs and the innings tailed off at 103.
Mein's opening burst brought figures of 3 for 12.
