GALA completed their Border 20/20 Cup campaign with a disappointing third defeat in four completed games as Langholm recorded an eventually comfortable eight-wicket win.
Gala lost Chris Yardley to the second ball of the match, but Kenny Paterson and Neil Crooks added 66 for the second wicket before Crooks holed out to deep mid-wicket off Steele. Soon after, Paterson went, top-edging a cut to point off Gregor Park. Th
e scoring rate slowed with only 36 runs coming off the final eight overs as Gala ended on 96 for 4.

In reply, Langholm also lost an early wicket with Euan Wilson chipping David Ormiston, out of retirement again, to Josh Irvine with only two runs on the board. Steele looked good on 16 until he was run out after a mix-up with Graham Park with the score on 37.

This brought the Park brothers together and Gala had a chance to pile on the pressure, but Crooks failed to hold a return catch before Gregor Park had got off the mark.

Park made the most of his let-off, scoring 31 not out as the brothers eased Langholm home in the 18th over.
