BORDERS football stars of the future head to Stenhousemuir FC today for the regional finals of the 2008 Coca-Cola 7s tournament.
In January, more than 7,500 pupils kicked off the competition, a Scottish Schools Football Association seven a-side competition for Under-13 boys and Under-14 girls.

At the second round, the remaining eight boys' and girls' teams arrived at Livingston FC with the chance of winning a place in the regional finals.

In the boys' tournament, Berwickshire High School, Kelso High School, Armadale Academy, Inveralmondy High School, Bo'ness Academy and West Calder High School put up strong opposition, but it was Galashiels Academy and Hawick High School who secured their place in the next round.

For the girls, Kelso High School will be heading to the home of the Warriors today along with Peebles High School but all the teams – Hawick High School, Selkirk High School, St Margaret's Academy, Bo'ness Academy, Whitburn Academy and Broxburn Academy – provided entertaining and skillful football.

The Coca-Cola 7s is not just about winning – it's about being the best you can be – and players can also look forward to being put through their paces in the level 3 coaching programme by ex- Hearts captain Gary MacKay and former Hibs and Partick Thistle player Chic Charnley, who will help the players develop their game and learn new skills.
