AN open day will be held this Sunday at Chirnside Community Centre with the hope of reforming Chirnside Boxing Club.
Former boxer Michael Black is the driving force behind the idea of reintroducing a club after an eight-year absence.

He has contacted ex-boxers and coaches who used to fight at the club and after a positive outcome it was decided to hold an open day, beginning at 2pm.

The aim is to invite potential boxers to attend, to be introduced to the club and see demonstrations of training, skills, fitness and discipline.

Children from the age of 10 can take part and parents can come along to have any questions answered.

The club will also be undertaking all security checks with the necessary agencies and will be applying to join the Scottish Boxing Association.

For further information please call Michael Black on 01890 818669 or email ticos2@tiscali.co.uk
