YOUNG Peebles ski ace Louise Bain raced her way to another double gold over the weekend of August 9/10 in the British Indoor Race series at Castleford in Yorkshire.
Competing in the final race (race seven) of the British Indoor Grand Prix series, the local teenager skied her way to 1st place in the CH2 age category also winning the opening race of this series in Braehead in May and race six at Chill Factor in Manchester in July, having to unfortunately miss races three and four due to other racing commitments.

She held this first position in race seven by a clear 0.86secs.

The following day she also took the British Championship title in her age category winning by a full 0.90secs on her nearest CH2 competitor.

Louise took this one step ahead of last years British silver title to claim her seventh gold position of the season and second double gold weekend since winning both days at the Twin Peaks races in June.

Louise attended a two-day race coaching camp at Xscape, Castleford run jointly by Lions Ski Club and the British Ski Academy prior to the racing. Skiing well in training both days, Louise claimed the fastest timed runs both days and would like to thank Scottish Border's Athlete Support Programme (ASP) for funding this specialised session.

The ASP also gives Louise funded access to a dietician, specialised coaching, sports psychology and fitness advice including strength and conditioning programme.

Among some of Louise's titles in her relevant age category are: Scottish Champion in Slalom & Giant Slalom 2006; European GS Champion 2006 (both age 12); Scottish Champion in Slalom 2007 (age 13); Anglo Welsh Indoor Champion 2008; British Indoor Champion 2008 (both age 14).

Louise also finished second in the CH2 age category in the final overall results in the Inghams Grand Prix series 2008 with 38 points. Managing to compete in only three out of the five races in the series at Pendle, Sunderland and Rossendale, she finished 11th over all female racers of all ages in the Grand Prix Series.

What do you think of the various video pieces we upload to the website?
They're a good idea and I always have a look
So far so good but I'd like to see more in terms of numbers and variety
I never watch them
