SELKIRK
THE past week has been a busy one on the Selkirk green.

Last Wednesday saw the final of the ladies' two-bowl singles, held over from last season, being played. Sharon Lindores defeated Elaine Firth.

On Saturday, members played in the Buccleuch Shield competition, which was won by H. Bell (skip) and T. Heatlie. The beaten finalists being D. Macleod (skip) and G. D. Munro.

On Sunday the ladies played in a two-bowl pairs competition, which was won by Hazel Scott and Jean Scott, who defeated Ella Gardiner and Mary Douglas in the final.

On Monday, 36 pairs competed in the Selkirk and Ettrick Forest May Day Pairs tournament. The final was held on the Selkirk green and was won by M. Neil (Inverkeithing) and A. Ross (Bainfield) who defeated J. Pringle and F. Forster from Ettrick Forest by one shot in a closely-contested final.

The beaten semi-finalists were: C. McKinnon and I. Borthwick; H. Bell and I. Bell (both Selkirk).
