Have your say

Your photo (June 2) showed the refurbished Jubilee Fountain in Jedburgh, but what exactly are the creatures crawling all over the column? At first I took them for rats (I believe Queen Victoria helped popularise rats as pets) but on closer inspection, they are definitely lizards.

But what connection could lizards have with Queen Victoria? No one I have asked in Jedburgh seems to know, or even has noticed them until I have drawn their attention to them. Can any of your knowledgeable readers clear up the mystery?
