Glebe for skateboards in Jedburgh

Have you heard the one about the Dip, just off Riverside Walk, one of Jedburgh’s beauty spots, which is used by mums and their young children as a play area, as well as by locals and visitors just out for a walk and a bit of peace and quiet, to watch the wonderful wildlife Jed has to offer?

Well seemingly, some bright spark councillor has decided to fill it in with concrete, costing around £120,000, and turn it into a skateboard track. That should bring the wildlife out on a Friday night.

Every local I’ve spoken to agrees that the best spot for a skateboard park would be the far end of the Glebe. A car park, toilets and changing facilities are already in place
