Witnesses sought after Innerleithen collision

Borders police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Innerleithen.

The collision occurred on the A72, Pirn Road, at around 3.30pm on Friday, December 4.

A Ford Fiesta was travelling westwards when it was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

A 67-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.

The road was closed in both directions and reopened at around 6.30pm.

Sergeant Neil Inglis of the Road Policing Unit said: “We’re eager for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who saw the Fiesta or the pedestrian shortly beforehand, to get in touch.”
