On behalf of everyone in Midlem, I would like to say a huge thank you to all old and new friends who came to our Open Gardens event on June 5.
Despite a cold, grey day, everyone seemed to have a good time. There were 15 gardens open, which we think is a record.
We’ve had some great feedback from visitors on the gardens – “beautiful and all different”, the teas “amazing”, and the “lovely atmosphere” in the village with “everyone piling in to help”.
Despite the weather, we made more than £1,200 to be shared between Marie Curie, RNLI, British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer’s Scotland and Parkinson’s UK.
We would like to thank everyone who sponsored us for our participation in the London Moonwalk on May 14 in aid of those suffering from breast cancer.
Also many thanks to those who bought or contributed items for the car boot sales at Galashiels Public Park and Norham Green.
We raised the grand total of £1,163.15 – a worthwhile result for traipsing the streets of London on a cold and blustery night. Saltire flags adorned our wildlife bras and apart from Heather having to discard her tail, all went well.
