Wind turbine bid takes fresh turn

A PLANNING bid for a single wind turbine near Copland Farm at Ancrum which was opposed by neighbours has been dropped.

But agents representing applicant Steven Fleming have told Scottish Borders Council that they will resubmit his bid for a 24.8m high mast.

One objector wrote: “Ancrum is set in a beautiful landscape and the position of the proposed turbine will be a blight on this landscape. Ancrum is uniquely positioned with views to both Penielheugh and Ruberslaw, and the size of this suggested wind turbine will have a detrimental effect on the natural beauty of the area.”
