Willing way to help needy

Throughout November, solicitors across the UK will be participating in the annual Will Aid campaign, providing people with the opportunity to make a will and rather than pay a fee to a solicitor, make a donation to Will Aid.

The Will Aid campaign is run by nine of the UK’s best-known charities: Action Aid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Age UK, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sightsavers International, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland), and last year raised a staggering £1.6million. Stormonth Darling W.S. in Kelso are keen participants in the scheme and last year managed to raise £2,000 in November.

As many as 67 per cent of Scots do not have wills and if this applies to any of your readers, why not consider making an appointment with a participating solicitor this November? The minimum suggested donation is £85 for a single will and £125 for a couple/mirror- image wills.
