IT WAS booked out almost as soon as it was advertised, but Firebrand Theatre Company is offering fans of NT Live and Dr Who the opportunity to win the final two tickets to David Tennant’s acclaimed performance as Jimmy Porter in Look Back In Anger, to be screened at Heart of Hawick.
Described as “stunning” and “magnificently tough and moving”, Firebrand director Richard Baron’s award-winning production, which also features Lynda La Plante’s Above Suspicion star Kelly Reilly, was filmed at the Theatre Royal, Bath, for the V&A Museum’s Theatre Performance Archive and has been recently shown in London to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this important collection.
Ellie Zeegen of Firebrand said: “We have received exclusive permission for this one-off Scottish screening to promote its aim of bringing theatre of the highest quality to the Borders and in advance of its production of Rona Munro’s play Iron, starring Blythe Duff, and also directed by Richard, which opens at Heart of Hawick next month.”
