LAUDER’S Mike Whellans, with Gary Forrest and Tich Frier, headlines a charity night in the town’s Lauderdale Hotel next Saturday.

Alongside Mike, the veteran one-man blues band, Gary is a well known accordionist and has played with Fergie Macdonald, Iain McPhail and Phil Cunningham.

A former member of the Bill Sharp Accordian Orchestra, Gary has won numerous titles.

Tich Frier started singing folk songs in Edinburgh, his home town, more than 40 years ago. A fan of Robert Burns as well as traditional and modern Scottish songs, Tich also performs parodies and music hall tunes. He has shared a stage with the Dubliners, Freddie and the Dreamers, and Lindsfarne, among others.

Also on the bill are Brian Miller, Siobhan Miller, Fiona Lang and June Mikele.

Tickets are £10 including basket supper and the evening, hosted by Lauderdale Rotary Club, will raise cash for local causes. Doors open at 7.30pm.
