Walking club’s new programme

a coastal walk from Bamburgh is to be included in the 2012 programme for the Scottish Borders Hill Walking Club, members heard at the AGM in Lindean Hall last week.

Other routes will include the Buchan Way from Broughton to Peebles, the Borders Abbeys Way from Hawick to Selkirk, Dollar Law, Grizedale Pike in the Lakes, a lunch hike at Denholm and a walk in the Potburn area at the head of Ettrick.

Subscriptions will remain at £5 per person and walkers are asked to donate £4 to cover the cost of travel which drivers can give as a donation to a charity of their choice.

Stan Scott, from Selkirk, was re-elected chairman. Other office-bearers: honorary president, Atholl Innes; secretary, Evelyn Horsburgh; treasurer, Dougal Gillespie; committee, Walter Miller, Bob Sneddon, Mike Still and Marion McQueen.
