Tweedside debut for band

The Scottish Borders’ newest ceilidh band, The Blackthorne Ceilidh Band, played their debut gig in the Cobbles Inn, Kelso, last week.

The band is led on lead accordion by Bob Liddle from Kelso, and it is from his grandfather, Jock Liddle’s band from the 50s, the Blackthorne Band, that the latest line-up gets its name. Playing fiddle in the band is Louise Douglas from Kirkton, Hawick, who is a well-known talented fiddler and teacher with the Riddell Fiddles, and completing the line-up on second accordion is Charlie McIntee from Kelso.
