A FAMILY has paid a moving tribute to a young driver killed in a car crash on the outskirts of Galashiels on Wednesday, writes Bob Burgess.

Graham Milroy of Torwoodlee near the town would have celebrated his 25th birthday next month.

Fire crews freed him from the wreckage of his Citreon Saxo but he died shortly afterwards at the Borders General Hospital near Melrose with his family by his side.

Mr Milroy had been driving south on the A7 when he was involved in a collision with a north-bound Skoda around 5.20pm.

In a statement issued through Lothian and Borders Police today his family said : “Graham would have 25-years-old in March and was a much loved caring son and brother.

“He loved music and working out daily and was a dedicated worker.

“He had applied to three universities this year and had long term plans to join the army and was looking forward to the future. We will miss our special son dearly.”

Police investigations into the crash are ongoing and they have asked anyone motorists who were on the road at the time to come forward.
