Galashiels Community Council’s ­Gala in Bloom Group, together with the town’s chamber of trade, held their annual award presentation in Old Gala House, acknowledging the quality of gardens of residential and commercial properties, and also commercial frontages and allotments.

Best private garden floral display (hard landscape) – 1, Mr T. Brown, 49 Balmoral Avenue; 2, Mr N. Hay, 48 Forest Hill; 3, Mr G. Millar, 38 Roger Quin Gardens.
