TWO of Scotland's favourite entertainers – Peter Morrison and Alastair McDonald – return to the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles tomorrow for another evening of well-loved songs.
Singer Peter Morrison came to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s with regular radio and television appearances. An arts and law graduate of Glasgow University, his musical talents finally overtook his legal career during the seventies with his part in the hugely popular Songs of Scotland BBC TV series.
During the 1980s he starred in The Magic of Musicals for Grampian Television, Top Cs & Tiaras for Channel 4 and Once upon a Song for Scottish Television, not to mention a host of Hogmanay shows on radio and TV. He now makes concert appearances throughout the country and in particular, the USA.
In 1996 he completed a 16-date concert tour in the States. “I also had the pleasure of giving three concerts in South Africa commemorating the Burns bi-centennial,” he said.
Likewise, Alastair McDonald is equally well-known at home and abroad from his TV appearances and tours as “the folk-singing jazz banjo player from Scotland”.
Tickets for Peter Morrison and Alastair McDonald are priced at 12 (10 concession). Call 01721 725777.
