St Ronan’s Silver Band, led by Chris Bradley, came second at the Borders Entertainment Contest in Jedburgh this month, winning the John A. Wilson Memorial Cup for Best third section band, and the coveted Bicentenary Cup for being the top Borders band, followed by Jedforest Instrumental and Selkirk Silver.
“We’re delighted with this result,” said band chairman, David Lindsay. “The players really deserve this success as they’ve worked almost non-stop since becoming Scottish Champions in March.”
St Ronan’s played ‘When Thunder Calls’, ‘All Through the Night’, ‘Trumpets Wild’ and ‘Hail the Dragon’.
The winner was Fife’s Tullis Russel Mills Band.
