Spaces hard to find in Kelso

Please can something be done about parking for the disabled in Kelso.

Before the town-centre work began, the disabled parking was limited, not only that, but able-bodied drivers used the spaces – i.e. to nip to the ATMs.

It seemed that the bays were moved along with the taxi ranks. Now they appear to have disappeared altogether.

The other day I called into Kelso to pick up my medication and could not find a space after driving round three times.

The only space I could find was either the Abbey car park or at the back of Horsemarket. I had to give up and return home.

I hope, on behalf of myself and other disabled drivers, that this issue is resolved very soon.

To those who use disabled bays and are not authorised to do so, if I misuse my blue badge then I could be subjected to a £2,000 fine and have my badge taken away.
