DARNICK will be holding a community lunch in celebration of The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.
The event takes place this Sunday on Smiths Road, from 12.30pm onwards.
Refreshments will be on sale, with a hog roast and rolls provided. Teas are available in the Village Hall from 3-4pm, with beer and wine on sale also.
There will be all sorts of entertainment on the day, including performances from Melrose Pipe Band (2.30pm), Selkirk group Riddell Fiddles (3pm), and Peter Pepper will be showcasing some street magic from 3-5pm.
Other activities on the day include a bouncy castle, face painting, a quiz, and competitions.
Guests are invited to attend in fancy dress – the themes are: 1950s, red, white and blue, or royal.
