POP favourites from the 1970s, Showaddywaddy, return to the Buccleuch Centre in Langholm as part of their 40th anniversary tour.
The band made famous for hits such as Under the Moon of Love, Three Steps To Heaven and You’ve Got What It Takes began back in 1973 after the amalgamation of two groups, Choise and the Golden Hammers.
This led to an eight-member band, with the unusual feature of having two vocalists. Their first single, Hey Rock and Roll (written by the band), was released in April 1974 and reached number two in the UK singles chart.
They went on to record three top 10 UK albums and 10 top 10 singles, including Under the Moon of Love which reached number one and sold nearly a million copies in 1976.
Despite a lack of hits over the last three decades, Showaddywaddy have continued to tour, and still do around 100 dates a year all around Europe.
Anyone seeking tickets, which are priced at £18.50, for the Saturday, February 23 show in Langholm, should phone 01387 381196 or visit www.buccleuchcentre.com
