it was perhaps fitting that on the hottest week of the year so far, The National Theatre of Scotland’s children’s production The Last Polar Bears visited five Borders primary schools.

The environmental adventure story by award-winning writer and illustrator Harry Horse was at Trinity in Hawick, Howdenburn in Jedburgh, Edenside in Kelso last week as well as Coldstream and Duns primaries this week.

The cast is undertaking a four week tour on bicycles and perform in the natural light of school halls using puppetry and live music.
