WASH your hands regularly and sneeze and cough into tissues.
That’s the advice of Scottish Borders Council (SBC) to school staff, pupils and parents this week to help prevent the spread of flu.
Education boss Glenn Rodger said it is important the council continue to closely monitor the flu situation and so, as a precautionary measure, an education official has been designated to liaise with schools and oversee any health issues.
With NHS Borders the council has put together an information leaflet for parents and staff to reinforce the importance of preventing the spread of infection which parents were being given this week.
Mr Rodger said: “The leaflet includes the crucial ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’ advice and the importance of good hygiene practice. It also contains useful information for parents about flu and what to do if their child develops symptoms.”
