Scottish Borders Council convener, Graham Garvie, has written to Consul General of France in Edinburgh, to express sympathy and support after the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday.

Gunmen and suicide bombers targeted a concert hall, stadium, restaurants and bars, leaving at least 129 people dead and hundreds wounded.

“On behalf of the people of the Scottish Borders, I write to express our sincerest condolences at the terrible attacks on the people of Paris last Friday,” stated Mr Garvie.

“All of our hearts go out to the relatives and friends of those who died or who were seriously injured in these appalling acts against innocent folk.

“Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and all French people at this very sad time.”
