An error by a Canadian booking agent has forced folk star Archie Fisher to withdraw from this year’s Innerleithen Music Festival.

But in his place is Rod Paterson, who festival committee member Robin Dempsey described as a highly-renowned soloist and member of Jock Tamson’s Bairns, as well as 1980s group The East Club.

The Paul McKenna Band and Jeana Leslie will perform during the same gig.

Another bonus for concert-goers is the news that leading Scottish fiddler and Scots Trad Music Award winner Duncan Chisholm, will be appearing as part of Julie Fowlis’s band. The committee has been busy adding other performers, including Kathy Stewart and the Frequent Flyers, Steve Byrne, Hawick’s Pat Douglas and a concert of Border piping, headlined by Matt Seattle.

Tickets are available to buy from tomorrow (Friday), with a special weekend brief available until the end of April, priced at £39.
