MOTORISTS have been warned to expect delays and diversions when resurfacing of the A7 between the Fountainhall junction and Hazelbank quarry takes place.
Work starts on Sunday for six days.
During the first three and on the last, traffic will be controlled through the roadworks.
But on the fourth and fifth days the road will be closed from 9am to 5pm.
Northbound drivers will use the A6091 from Galashiels to Ravenswood, the A68 to Fordel Mains then through Dalkeith to rejoin the A7 at the Eskbank/Bonnyrigg roundabout.
Southbound traffic will use the same route in reverse. The council says the work is essential.
