At a ceremony in the Royal British Legion club, Jedburgh, Adrian Lucas, chairman of SSAFA (Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Families Association) Borders accepted a cheque for £1,010 from Jim Logan, Borders representative of the Legion’s riders’ branch.

Adrian was pleased the riders chose to donate such a significant amount to SSAFA which would help volunteers continue to deliver a high-quality service to forces personnel and their families in the Borders.

Jim and his fellow riders’ key aim is to raise money to support local and national charities. The riders also played a key role in supporting the Legion organise commemorative events such as Remembrance Day, and are contributing to the planning of next year’s Parade of Colours in Coldstream to mark the anniversary of the beginning of the First World War.
