THE Callum’s Trust Big Cycle is coming up next month.
The local charity has set up 10, 25 and 50-mile routes, with marshals, starting and finishing at Netherdale in Galashiels and the money raised will help people with cancer in the Borders.
The 10-mile route is suitable for children and beginners, says the charity, with the route going to Selkirk and back, while the 25-mile route takes in Melrose, Dryburgh and St Boswells.
The longest pedal, the 50-miler, takes the back road to Bermersyde, back via Bowden, through Selkirk to Ettrickbridge, up over into the Yarrow Valley and back via the A707 to Galashiels.
The charity says on its website: “All it takes is a little bit of dedication, a little bit of commitment and a little bit of heart. You could be fundraising for cancer patients in the Scottish Borders, along with a whole bunch of other like-minded folks. You bring the bike and we guarantee you’ll have a fun day out with Callum’s Trust on The Big Cycle 2012.”
