Television regulator Ofcom has ruled that ITV has to provide 90 minutes of Scottish current affairs programming for the Borders.

The decision, part of a new licence which will come into effect in January 2015, will also see Lookaround return, covering only the Scottish side of the border.

An option to provide an additional 30 minutes of news or current affairs from the Borders and Dumfries and Galloway, in addition to Lookaround, was rejected by the regulator, despite the support of local politicians.
