Borderers had their eyes in the sky on Sunday evening as the supermoon – the full moon at its perigee (the closest part of its orbit around the earth) – was eclipsed by the Earth, giving it a red hue.

The rare phenomenon (the first of its kind since 1982, and the last we’ll see until 2033) was captured by reader Iona Butlin.
