owners of quad bikes have been urged to remove ignition keys when vehicles are not being used.
The advice follows the theft of two red Honda TRX420 quads from a steading shed at Tinnis Farm, Yarrow, between last Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Police say the raiders removed a padlock from the building before driving the quad bikes out of the property.
“This is a recurring theme in rural areas across Scotland and we again ask that keys for quad bikes are kept securely away from the vehicles,” said a police spokesman.
“This makes them less appealing to steal and reduces the number of thefts affecting our farming communities.”
