Praise for Postcode Lottery

It was great to read about the two People’s Postcode Lottery winners from Fountainhall (Southern, March 1).

On behalf of Children 1st, I’d like to thank James Dodds and Nyssa Conway, and all of the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery throughout the Borders. This lottery has a tremendous impact on the work we do with children and young people locally.

Last year alone, the People’s Postcode Lottery raised more than £500,000 to support children across Scotland. Their financial support enabled our services based in Selkirk to help dozens of local children and their families across the region.

The work we do in the Borders helps children and young people to recover from emotional, physical and sexual abuse, as well as to support children who have been living with domestic abuse. We are also able to support parents who have experienced childhood sexual abuse – through aiding their recovery, we also support them as parents and in their family life.
