Praise for female Rotarians

IN a recent article about a youth diversionary project, Selkirk Rotarian Doug Forsyth was quoted as saying that a lot of his club’s members “were businessmen with a real interest in helping the young people of the town develop the confidence they will need when they enter the job market”.

Mr Forsyth is keen to stress that he was referring to “businessmen and women” when he spoke to The Southern.

“I am always very clear that our club enjoys the benefits of the business experience of both men and women,” said Mr Forsyth. “Indeed, if it were not for the pivotal role our lady members play in club activities, we would not enjoy the success we do, both locally and internationally.”
