Police plea after A7 accident

POLICE are seeking

Borders commuters who witnessed a road accident which closed the A7 for five-and-a-half hours.

The incident, which took place at 7.35am last Friday at Middleton Mains in Midlothian, just north of the former Dug Inn, left a man with serious injuries to his head, arms and legs.

The 52-year-old, who was driving a white Renault Cilo, collided with an oncoming Ford Iveco lorry. The driver of the lorry and a passenger suffered only minor injuries and did not require treatment.
