Police hunt vehicle vandals

POLICE are investigating an incident of fireraising and a spate of vandal attacks in Innerleithen.

A caravan was set on fire in Montgomery Street shortly before 4.30am on Sunday.

Between Friday and Monday a red Mazda car had its bodywork scratched while parked in the town’s Peebles Road. Overnight on Saturday a black Volvo which was parked in Buccleuch Street was vandalised by someone jumping on the bonnet and roof.

Cars have also been vandalised while parked in Princes Street.

Officers have launched appeals for witnesses or anyone with information about any of the incidents to come forward. Information can be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
