Police have said they are concerned for the welfare of a Borders man who hasn’t been seen since Wednesday.
Thomas Johnstone was last seen about 8.30am that day when he left the Borders General Hospital near Melrose.
The 64-year-old hasn’t been in contact with anyone and police say concern is growing for his welfare.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Officers have conducted various local enquiries within the Borders to trace Thomas, who has previously visited the London and Kent areas.
“Anyone who can assist in locating him, is asked to come forward.
“It has now been a number of days since Thomas was last seen leaving the hospital and we are keen to trace him as soon as possible to ensure he is safe and well.
“Anyone with information that can help with our investigation should contact us immediately.”
Mr Johnstone is 6ft 2in, muscular, with short grey hair and a beard.
When he was last seen he was wearing black trousers and a black and grey striped top.
He is also believed to be in possession of two bags, one with a Nike logo.
