A YEAR ago, St Boswells Live! held its first show – an evening headlined by Kieran Halpin who played to a packed house.

Some extraordinary shows took place since then, in spite of freezing weather. For a while it was touch-and-go, but when the heating in St Boswells Village Hall was replaced, audiences grew.

To celebrate 12 months of the club, St Boswells Live! are getting right back to the heart of the club and Friday, April 27, sees the first dedicated night for young musicians called Plug and Play.

The idea came from Peebles/Innerleithen band, Cake and Grief Counselling, who asked if there was any chance of playing at St Boswells Live! as they had struggled to get local gigs.

They will perform as well as all-girl eight-piece Seven Brunettes and a Ginger, Oxton duo Rebecca and Katherine Caswell, talented young electric guitarist Jack Davenport and three-piece girl rock band Where’s George?

Tickets for the 7.30pm show, £5, are available in advance via www.stboswellslive.com or from St Boswells Post Office.
