Fire crews fight blaze in shed next to Galashiels cemetery

Fire crews are currently trying to tame a blaze in a large shed near Heatheryett Cemetery.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told us: “We were called to the incident at 3.34pm today (Monday).

“Appliances from Galashiels, Selkirk and Lauder are in attendance.

“We don’t know as yet if anyone has been injured in the fire.”

Reader Alistair Peacock sent in these images of the blaze, which is throwing up large plumes of black smoke.
