Officers hurt in police car crash

TWO police officers were taken to hospital after their vehicle ended up overturned in a field in Peeblesshire.

Both officers, a man and a woman, were responsing to an emergency call when their volvo skidded off the A703 between Peebles and Leadburn late on Monday afternoon.

Both officers were taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with minor injuries.

An 83-year-old man was taken to the same hospital with neck injuries after a two-vehicle accident near Carlops earlier on Monday.

A woman and boy in the other car were uninjured.
