A GALASHIELS student has replaced his diet of raw eggs with McDonalds cheeseburgers after lifting a national bodybuilding title.
Ryan Millar clinched the Mr Scotland under-21 crown in front of a crowd of 1,400 in Glenrothes on Saturday.
But instead of champagne, Ryan, better known as Dusty, went to the fast food chain.
Ryan, 20, said: “I spent 16 weeks eating turkey, potatoes and raw eggs for protein so I had two cheat days after the competition. I spent them eating cheeseburgers from McDonald’s and it has been amazing. But I am back to my diet this week ahead of Mr Britain.”
A member of TriFitness in Galashiels, Ryan took up bodybuilding two and a half years ago, but his success in Fife was his debut competition.
Ryan was a clear winner, impressing in all four categories of size, symmetry, definition and stage presence.
He said: “It was a real adrenaline rush. I was mentored by William Thomson from Peebles, who was Mr Scotland last year. He set up my diet and helped me with my nutrition and my preparation on the day.
“I had a lot of mates travel up with me and my girlfriend was there, so I had great support.”
Ryan, now heads to Southport near Liverpool for the Mr Britain contest, and success there could see him travel to the world championship.
