Nominations are now open for the 2015 Inspire Awards, which are held annually to celebrate the hard work and achievements of young Borderers aged 12 to 25.

The awards are designed to recognise young individuals or groups who have been outstandingly successful in a particular field or have overcome considerable obstacles to make a contribution to their local community.

The award categories are: Volunteering, Sport, Music and the Arts, Community, Global Citizen and Inspirational.

Nominations are open until December 31, and anyone can nominate someone, or a group, for an award.

Judging will be carried out by this year’s Inspire Awards group, which is made up of young people from across the region under the age of 21.

The results will be announced at the annual Saltire Inspire Awards ceremony, to be held in Galashiels on March 20, 2015, when Saltire Award certificates for volunteering will also be presented.
