A PLATFORM for up-and-coming musicians, particularly those interested in the rock and blues genres, will be created in the Reivers Bar, Galashiels, this Sunday.
The venue’s first Sunday Blues Jam will take place from 5-8pm.
An experienced house band, comprising Peebles slide guitarist/harpist Gary Martin, singer/guitarist Stevey Hay, a standing dish in the Edinburgh blues scene, bassist Keith Johnston of local rockers Angie and the Straytones, as well as drummer Big Dunc of the Strangers, will open and close the session.
“All the backline and PA will be set up for guys who want to get up and jam, either with us or as a band,” explained Keith.
“Our aim is give local musicians a chance to express themselves in front of an enthusiastic audience and, of course, to have a good time.
“We hope it takes off and can become a regular event.
“What better way to chill out on a Sunday than with some hard rocking blues?”
