EMERGING songwriters from across the Borders will showcase their talents at the second Melting Pot gig on Saturday, July 30.
A sell-out crowd watched the first staging of this acoustic event in the Salmon Inn in Galashiels, and the String Jam Club and RX Promotions are once again hosting an evening of original music.
And it is fitting that Angus Gunn of Clovenfords headlines, having made one of his first public appearances at the String Jam Club 10 years ago at the age of 14.
“His potential was evident even at that age, and his very distinctive writing style, intense performances and impressive finger-picking have brought him a strong Borders following,” said Allie Fox of the String Jam Club.
Madeleine Dow will perform an extended support slot, while Anthony McIntyre, Danny Norwich, Mike Fleck, Fiona Laing, Bruce Murray and Dan Orr will also feature.
Fox added: “With her delightfully smoky voice and intense emotional performances, Madeleine has made a deep impression whenever she’s played at the club.
“String Jam Club is again delighted to be hosting this event in conjunction with Ryan Oliver of RX Promotions – it promises to be a truly eclectic and contemporary showcase of varied genres, superlative sounds and fresh originality.”
Doors open at 7.15pm with the gig starting at 8pm. Tickets are now on sale from The Salmon for £6 – or phone 01750 720538 or 07891 694206 for more information.
