GIANTS in the Forest, a community arts project based at Glentress, has proved a popular hit in the Peeblesshire area.

Groups such as the Cardrona Rainbows, Brownies and Scouts have visited, and under the watchful eye of artist Sara Best, have set about creating friendly faces to keep the giants company.

Using hessian cloths, and found objects including sticks, moss and stones, the children made a series of eye-catching images which are now displayed in the trees by the Glentress ponds.

The initiative, run by Vision Mechanics in partnership with the Eastgate Theatre in Peebles, will see the giants join the faces by the end of October, providing an inspiring backdrop for all sorts of creative activities, from singing to storytelling.

If you’re interested in organising an event at Giants in the Forest, phone the Eastgate on 01721 725785.
