Hawick lottery winners David and Carol Martin were asked at this morning's press conference about what they will spend their record-breaking £33million share of Saturday's jackpot on.

One of the questions was if they would invest any of it in Hawick Knitwear - last week news broke that over 120 jobs were being lost after the firm went into administration.

David said it was a very difficult question: “The knitwear industry has not had an easy time, but it is not just the knitwear sector. Lots of places are having a hard time at the moment.”

The couple told a packed press conference in Edinburgh that they will take time to decide what they will spend the huge jackpot on, but trips to major sporting events was a priority.
