Talking Faith

On my mother’s 80th birthday celebration my sisters and I each thanked her for something she had taught us or done for us.

My older sister chose letting her light bonfires in the back garden, because it encouraged her to be less cautious and take a risk. My younger sister thanked her for her strength in supporting her through very difficult times. I was grateful for all that my mum had taught me about being a mother myself.

I know not everyone has such a positive relationship with their mother and sometimes we find it very difficult to put our feelings into words.

But if you’re in touch this Mothering Sunday, along with the card and gift, why not try and say thank you for one specific thing, while you can.
